All About Vinyl

Adhesive Vinyl

Adhesive Vinyl is "sticky" vinyl.  We use adhesive vinyl for designs on cups and tumblers, car decals, and just about everything that can have a sticker stuck to it.

We primarily carry Oracal 651, and our printed vinyl is on a 651 equivalent.  Oracal 651 is "outdoor" vinyl.

We recommend using Oracal 631 - indoor/removable vinyl - or an equivalent product for walls.

Heat Transfer Vinyl - HTV

Heat Transfer Vinyl is used on textiles -- hats, shirts, totes, etc.  HTV can be applied with an iron, but for a long-lasting and accurate application, it is best applied with a heat press.

We are proud to carry Stahls' HTV, glitter, flock, and printed HTV at Makers on Main.

Caring for Vinyl

We recommend hand-washing your cup or tumbler.  Vinyl is not safe in the dishwasher or the microwave.

For HTV, the best results come from turning your garment inside out and washing on cold with a mild detergent.  Then dry inside out on normal heat. Do not dry clean.
